Consortium of Four Container Lines Selects Halifax for Weekly Service

Halifax, NS - April 15 , 2009 - The CKYH Alliance members, Cosco Container Lines, "K" Line, Yang Ming and Hanjin Shipping, have selected the Port of Halifax in their comprehensive schedule deployment between Asia and the East Coast of North America. Halifax is the only Canadian port of call on the new service.

The weekly service, designated AWE 4, will connect South East Asia (Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand), Hong Kong and South China with Eastern Canada (Quebec/Ontario), Atlantic Canada and the US Midwest through the Port of Halifax. The members will provide the full range of liner container service for both dry and temperature control cargo.

Container handling services will be provided by Halterm Container Terminal Limited. The inaugural port call will occur in early May.
