Port of Halifax Welcomes Queen Victoria, Cunard Line’s Newest Vessel on Friday

October 1, 2009, Halifax, N.S – The Port of Halifax welcomes the newest vessel of Cunard Line, Queen Victoria, on October 2, 2009. Queen Victoria will do a Harbour Tour before it berths along the Halifax Seaport.

Harbour Tour Details- Best Times for Viewing:*

1 – Point Pleasant Park, 7:30 am
2 – Woodside Ferry Terminal, 7:45 am
3 – Nova Scotia Hospital, 7:55 am
4 – Dartmouth Ferry Terminal, 8:10 am
5 – Historic Properties, 8:20 am

Please Note: Queen Victoria’s Captain, Ian McNaught, will be available for media interviews on Friday morning at 9:45am. Please report to 1215 Marginal Road, Halifax Port Authority Administration Building, along the Halifax Seaport. Interviews will take place in front of the Samuel Cunard statue.

A news release will be issued by the Halifax Port Authority on Friday morning regarding Queen Victoria’s inaugural call to Halifax.
