HPA in the Community
The Halifax Port Authority (HPA) is proud to be an active member of the community in which we live and work. Here's how we contribute:
- We donate our time, expertise and financial resources to a wide range of community organizations: charities, cultural groups, and skills-development organizations
- Our staff actively participates in fundraising activities each year
- Port contingency plans, safety and environmental initiatives, educational programs, and marine and landside security benefit commercial shipping and the local community alike
In 2006 we surveyed employees and stakeholders about what causes we should be supporting with our community investment program. Through this process three areas were selected, arts & culture, the environment, and port-related activities.
Halifax Port Authority employees are involved in many community events from FEED NOVA SCOTIA to Health organizations to Minor Sports. Please click here to view some of our latest community involvement.
